Hello Angela,
First, let me express my sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for your honesty, courage and desire to support other kindred spirits! You've become something of a personal hero of mine and I'm delighted to have this chance to ask you something quite crucial to my transition.
About 10 yrs ago I found I had a Candida imbalance and did the Body Ecology Diet, which did change my life. While part of me really wants to let go of that "box" that keeps me stuck in that place of giving power to candida I also want to make sure that in my transition I don't do something stupid. I have NO desire to do the BED system again and I find I am happiest doing fabulous fruit and superfood smoothies in the morning, fabulous salads at lunch, fruit as a snack and some cooked veggies and salad in the evenings as I slowly shift....but I'm NOT looking for a free consultation here (I actually do plan to contact you about booking one as a treat for myself), rather your general thoughts on how to be considerate of a candida imbalance without being relegated to dull, monotonous food with no access to fruit or anything sweet to balance out the savory.
You mentioned in your story about wrestling with this issue and I KNOW I won't be able to have an enjoyable relationship with food and stick with this shift if I have to do the commando candida thing again...I've always been told candida requires an acidic body to thrive and survive, but someone eating mostly raw foods is very alkaline, so it confuses me that candida can thrive from eating fruit...and this is something I used to counsel people on, others who were doing BED as well.
So confusing...help.
