My Patterns
I
look back in shock at my typical food intake before going raw - my day
started with 2 rounds of toasted cheese and ham sandwiches, biscuits
mid-morning were followed by a huge cooked lunch - at least two plates of
something like pasta or pizza, then something sweet. In the afternoons
I'd snack again on biscuits and huge bowls of hot chocolate before an
evening meal like soup and sandwiches or pasta bake, followed,
inevitably, with something sweet and often late-night snacks - crisps
or biscuits. My calorie intake must have been enormous, but I had no
concept of limits, I just ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I
ate an incredible amount of unhealthy carbohydrates, sugars and fats. |

General Raw Food Guidance |
Ten Top Tips
Dried
fruits can make a tasty snack, but be careful not to have large amounts, or to eat them very often, as they can mess with your blood sugar levels - try to eat no more
than a small handful a day at most.
It is important to drink a lot of pure water - at least the 'standard' 6-8 glasses a day - make sure it is distilled
or filtered, as normal tap water can contain many toxins. Freshly
squeezed juices or fresh young coconut juice are also great raw choices, if
available. |

Enzymes, Vitamins and Minerals |
Enzymes
Enzymes are the energetic life force of food - they do more
than just help digest and absorb food - they´re responsible for every
chemical reaction in every cell in the body. You cannot function
without them, so it is important to get the best supply of live,
healthy enzymes you can - if you eat cooked, 'dead' food without live
enzymes, the body cannot use it efficiently and it causes toxicity.
