Commercial diets rarely bring the desired results - people tend to simply lose water, not fat and weight quickly increases again afterwards. The raw lifestyle offers completely natural weight loss - there are no advertising campaigns and no big multi-nationals taking profit to fuel corporate activity - it´s easy, fast and the most natural option available. Many raw-foodists also enjoy stating that they can eat as much as they like - as long as it´s raw - and still lose weight, until they level out at their natural size. There is, however, no magic bullet offered here - it takes time, thought and commitment to adjust properly to this lifestyle, but it can bring the best results you could hope for. If you understand that your physical health is inter-connected to your mental, spiritual and emotional lives and you are willing to take steps forwards for yourself, you're surely on the path to true health.
In physiological terms, if you're obese and eat a standard British or American diet, you can be almost certain your colon is toxic. When you fill your system with food that´s hard to digest or eliminate efficiently, it ends up rotting and putrefying in your intestines, from where it can leak to your blood, causing food allergies as the body reacts to the particles as enemies. The toxic colon is also a breeding ground for parasites - if you constantly eat cooked/processed foods, the body has no time to detoxify and you're in a poisonous cycle. However, if you go raw, the colon naturally clears out old debris, blood pressure and cholesterol are lowered, the immune system strengthened and most importantly here, a natural healthy body weight achieved.
