Golden Chopsticks Award

I was absolutely DELIGHTED last month to receive the ?Golden Chopstix? Award at the 3rd annual Raw Spirit Festival
in Sedona, Arizona. The awards are stated as being for ?Up-and-Coming
Raw Food Leaders?. Although I was not able to be present physically at
the festival, due to current visa complications, I was ?virtually
there? for a large portion of the event, via Skype video conferencing with Mr Monarch ? which was SO much fun. He accepted the award for me, as you can see in this video I just posted to YouTube:

Raw Summit 2

IT?S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK :)
Raw Summit 2 is due to commence THIS THURSDAY,

Cousens, Mrs. Boutenko and other select lovelies... This time round,
the all-new line-up features a mixture of raw food chefs, authors,
speakers, restaurateurs and more?here are a few of the participants:
Sergei Boutenko, Ani Phyo, Joel Fuhrman, Robert O. Young, Rev. Michael
Beckwith, Brain and Anna Maria Clement, Rod Rotondi, Annie Jubb, Tim
Van Orden, Karen Knowler, Mike Nash?
Looks like a yummy selection?to read more about it and to sign up to hear the talks for FREE, click HERE.

Raw Success ? Winner Announced

As announced last month, Mr Monarch?s new book, ?Raw Success?
is OUT NOW :) It was launched at the Raw Spirit Fest in Arizona and
sold around 500 copies in the first week alone? We?re excited that this
ground-breaking info is getting out there? Raw Success contains details
of ?The Blood Gas Theory? (among other things) ? which is something Dr.
Fred Bisci ?handed down? to Matt and seems to be rarely spoken
of/understood in raw food circles, yet is KEY for understanding how
detox works. As detox is an enormous part of what being raw is all
about for most modern humans ? releasing decades and decades of old
waste ? it?s easy to appreciate the value of this book ?You can see Raw
Success and order your copy HERE... ENJOY and do email Matt at

to let him know your thoughts if you read it? ;)
Last month we also had a RawReform giveaway contest to win a FREE
copy of Raw Success. To be in with a chance of winning, we asked you to
send in YOUR top three tips for success with a raw lifestyle. Y?all
sent in some WONDERFUL ideas ? thanks so much. A selection of the
entries have been posted to the RawReform Giveaways Page HERE: http://www.rawreform.com/content/view/274/138/
The WINNER however, picked at random, was XC with the following guidance:
1. Variety - include at least one new raw recipe a week - that way you don't get stuck in a rut.
2. Share your wonderful creations
with others - this is affirming for you and allows you to share in your
enthusiasm of the wonders and benefits of this lifestyle.
3. Looking and feeling better than ever are the greatest motivators to
staying raw, and one of the ways I find so helpful is to: Have a green smoothie
at least once a day, and vary the combo variations. You will be a
powerhouse of energy and vitality! Even kids cannot resist a good
combo of yummy fruits and leafy greens all whipped up in a delish
concoction.
XC
Thanks so much XC and everyone else who entered this contest, for sharing your tips. You can check out many of the other entries HERE and the complimentary copy of Raw Success is on its way to XC now ;)

RawReform on NewsTarget

On October the 15th, NewsTarget published
one of my weight loss articles as their lead in a whole email blast
about raw foods. If you?re not familiar with the work of NewsTarget and
its founder, Mike Adams, I?d highly recommend checking it out. They
send out email shots most days with cutting-edge alternative health
info. It?s an extremely popular email service, with over 100,000
subscribers I believe? On October the 15th, raw foods got highlighted
in a big email blast to that whole list?WOW...imagine if ALL those
people shimmied a little further into the light of raw foods, what an
impact that would have... :) You can see my article on the NewsTarget
site HERE: http://www.newstarget.com/022123.html

Top 15 Reasons Why Squirrels (and other animals) Must Think We?re Nuts...

I?m SO excited to share with you an article I recently came across? I
think this is one of the most wonderful things I?ve read in recent
years ? I love it. The title is ?Top 15 Reasons Why Squirrels (and other animals) Must Think We?re Nuts?
and it?s by an ?eco? writer called Gavin Hudson. This article is SO in
alignment with the way I see the world?and it?s well-written, funny and
intelligent?wonderful. I loved it so much that I asked the writer if I
could add it to the RawReform site?he agreed and so?well, I?ll let you
just go and read it for yourself ? it?s HERE: http://www.rawreform.com/content/view/344/127/

New Recommended Products
The RawReform Store has been awash with gourmet new raw food goodies of late?I?ve been blogging about many of them ? here are a few of my favourites:
Flax Crackers:
I am TOTALLY loving our new Mineral-Rich Flax Crackers.
They?re so thick that you can easily use them as a pizza base and
feature the most delicious combination of pumpkin, sesame and flax
seeds with dulse ? it?s extraordinary ? I can?t actually really work
out in fact HOW they managed to end up tasting so great, as the
ingredients are really simple?just the technique and the love in the
product I guess ;)
Alive Hummus:
The dry-mix hummus packs
from Matter of Flax are a fantastic niche product. They contain a dry
blend of different ground seeds, herbs, spices and so on, which you can
then simply add water to, to make into a sauce, dip, soup-base or
whatever you like. Their flavours are so beautifully balanced ? you can
feel the love that?s gone into developing these ?raw fast foods? ;) My
favourite is the Sundried Tomato hummus pack.
Gopal?s Powersticks:
These ?old school? raw snacks have been around for years on the raw
scene. Simple, tasty, inexpensive, these mini-nori rolls make a great
snack or side dish. We have the Curry, Italian and Mexican varieties.

WIN UliManaMana Chocolates
MMmmmMMMmMmm :) We recently added the whole line of Ulimanamana raw chocolates
to the RawReform Store and they?re proving to be bestsellers
already?and not without due reason?they are, quite simply, the best raw
chocolates on the market that we?ve tasted. Made with MUCH love by a
fabulous team in Asheville, NC, these little rich balls of dark
chocolate ecstasy are raw decadence defined?and this month we have 3 CANISTERS of them to package off to one very lucky winner?WOW?
To be in with a chance of sinking your gnashers into these chocolate-y bliss orbs, just answer the following question:
What is YOUR favourite recipe containing raw chocolate (cacao)?

RawReform Media Roundup

The RawReform Media Coverage page has just been updated. Here are some of the most recent interviews I?ve given:
Revvellations:
In early October, my radio interview with long-term health seeker and
raw foodie Revvell Revati went up online. Revvell interviews many
different speakers about health, success and realising our potential.
She seems a lovely being, sharing useful, illuminating info with the
world via internet radio and this was a fun interview to do? ;) You can
listen to the interview for free here:
http://www.bigmediausa.com/archive.asp?aid=10513
Co-op Radio Interview:
There was something quite delicious about this interview for Vancouver
Co-op radio. The host is a lovely, gentle, insightful woman named
Allart?this interview differed to so many others in that we went
deeeeeeep into the emotional aspects of my raw food journey ? almost to
the exclusion of all else ;) It was wonderful to share so much,
especially with a fellow raw foodie and WOMAN who clearly is very
passionate about health and healing for the masses?beautiful?you can
listen to the interview for free HERE:
http://www.animalvoices.org/dynamichealth/dh-2007-10-10.mp3
Pear Magazine:
The second half of my interview in online raw mag Pear Magazine is out
now. The magazine is currently celebrating its second birthday and also
includes articles by a teen raw columnist, plus interviews with Karen
Knowler and Heidi and Justin from Raw Food, Right Now. Hurray :) You

Email Gremlins
I am so sorry to say that directly after sending the RawReform

heard a response from us, we?re not ignoring you ;) Apologies
for any inconvenience. Everything is completely back to full
functionality as I write now, so please feel free to send messages

Raw Banana Bread Recipe

When Mr Monarch went raw, one of the main things he missed was the
yummy banana bread his mum used to make him. He made it his mission to
re-create the taste, RAW. The result is a spectacularly simple recipe, which I shared this month on the RawReform Blog
to MUCH interest and unexpected excitement?it seems people out there
are hankering for raw bread ;) So I decided to share the recipe here
too?ENJOY :)
Banana-Nut Bread
2 cups vegetable juice pulp (preferably at least half of it carrot pulp)
8 tbsp ground flax or chia
3⁄4 cup chopped walnuts
3⁄4 cup raisins
5 bananas
Mix together the veggie juice pulp and bananas in a food processor. Add
in the ground flax or chia and let the food processor run until the
seeds are completely mixed in.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl with the walnuts and raisins and mix
them in thoroughly by hand. Shape into a loaf. For major yumminess, top
with ?Cream Cheese? (see below).
Cream Cheese
Flesh of three avocadoes
9 dates
juice of 1 or 2 lemons
big handful of dulse
Blend the ingredients in a blender. Serve on top of banana-nut bread, or just eat on its own ;)
That?s it ? super-easy, a good way to recycle juicing pulp and VERY yummy ? well, we like it anyway?;)
You may like to experiment with dehydrating the ?bread? before
eating?we?ve never done that ? we just shape it into smthg and eat it
immediately ? I?m sure it would be great dehydrated
too though?also, Mr Monarch recommended that I tell you that he
actually prefers the version I recently made using the ingredients we
had on hand ? I used chopped brazil nuts and diced prunes instead of
walnuts and raisins and I also added in some lucuma powder for shortbready yumminess? ;)
--------------
WELL?that seems like PLENTY of sharing for now?Newsletter Number 30 -
wow - how did we ever get so far along this magical path...??? ;)
...sending blessings and joyous abundance for YOUR raw journey,
wherever you may be?ENJOY :)
One love,
Angela. xxx
