The Raw Model's New "Superfood Seeds"
Many of you probably know already of Anthony Anderson, the "Raw Model" - did you know thoug h that he just recently launched a line of Wildharvested Superfood Seeds to grow your very own superfoods at home for pennies...? :)
I LOVE this idea and product line...as you may know, Anthony has been nurturing his own permaculture kins domain/space of love in Minnesota for the last few years - you can check out videos of his place online...and over the years, Anthony came to the conclusion, just like us, that it seems to make a lot more sense to help grow and support wildharvested, sturdy plants, herbs and 'weeds', than to try to protect weaker domesticated plants that struggle with bugs, soil conditions, water access and many other factors. Dandelions for example are one of the BEST cleansers for our livers/blood...and they ar e super-resilient, popping up all over the place by themselves...compared to nurturing a romaine lettuce that ultimately has a lot less to offer medicinally, I know which we'd prefer to give garden space ;)
SO, Mr. Anderson, in his wisdom, went about collecting wild seeds for 13 different varieties of plant, focusing especially on perennials and packaging them up in super*sweet* little tins,
for others to obtain and start growing in their own vicinities...LOVE
it...these seeds are TROOPERS - just get them into soil and these guys
will provide you with bountiful crops with very little further attention - they do not need baby-ing or protecting - they are STRONG and will bring your body valuable nourishment too - how fabulous :) I LOVE this project :))) Check out this video below with Anthony, explaining more about these new seeds:

"What has been your most memorable experience so far with another animal?"
Your answers were all so beautiful, moving, inspiring and uplifting - thank you for sharing each and every one of them :) The winner of the book, picked at random today is Tiffany D, who sent in the following moving entry:
"It would have to be my dog;
who I have to say I found online, purely by chance. I lost my Jack
russell about 2 years prior to getting her, there was a huge hole that
needed to be filled. I had also experienced the loss of babies, 2
beautiful twin girls, born still. I needed the love only an animal could
provide. You know that deep down, nothing you could do or say was wrong type of love. I found our little 'Dreamie'
while hunting on the internet one day, I called up the breeder and the
dog sounded perfect. After convincing my husband, that it was time to
get another dog, we went to take a look at her. Dreamie was a 5 year old
Jack Russell, who needed a family to love her. She was born to breed a few litters, but the poor girl
couldn't do pregnancy well. She had suffered the loss of puppies, just
like me. We took her home, to see what fit she would be with our family
(2 kids and 1 more on the way!) She was perfect! She knew just what to
do with kids and how to behave with them. I was in love and knew she had
com e to heal my broken heart.
To seal the deal even more, once I had her papers sent to me I discover
the date of her birth. October 31st. This is the same day, my precious
baby girls were born into this world. I love this little dog. She knows me and my heart. We've had her two years now and there isn't a day that I'm not thankful for finding her. She's a good 'mom' to my kids and she's my comfort on those hard days.
It might not be the most exciting story, but it's memorable to me.
