SUPERFOOD ADVENTURES IN BRIGHTON

Well, things have certainly been taking on amazing new dimensions for me over the last couple of months. Interest in my message of raw weight loss and transformation grows constantly and having just moved into the beautiful, bohemian, buzzing city of Brighton, things look set to just keep on expanding. The raw food 'scene' here is really taking shape with wonderful raw suppliers Raw Living having recently relocated here from London, as well as the opening of a predominantly raw food cafe. I have been sampling the delights of various superfood goodies from Raw Living, such as handmade raw chocolate bars, goji berry trail mix and masses of maca powder. If you are curious about superfoods, I suggest checking out www.rawliving.co.uk where you can find out more.

My experience with starting to use more of these amazing nutrient-dense foods is that I have lots more energy and stamina and feel an increased ability to remain present in the current moment. I certainly recommend some experimentation...

FUNKY FESTIVALS

The end of July saw me in a damp, clammy, water-logged tent somewhere in the south-west of England...ahh, must be festival season...this wasn't just any festival though, this was the Funky Raw, enjoying its second birthday in style with a week long celebration of raw foods, holistic lifestyles and fun. I really enjoyed meeting so many other people there on this path, building a sense of community, despite our many different backgrounds and experiences of living raw. I also really appreciated having incredible raw meals direct daily from the funky kitchen - amazing raw food for a week and I didn't have to prepare a thing - bliss...

I came away with the feeling that there is a real understanding growing behind the raw movement now and a solid feeling of community building up - I look forward to seeing people again and meeting others interested in this lifestyle at the Festival of Life in London on the 11th of September. A SIMPLE RECIPE TO TANTALISE YOUR TASTE BUDS:

Sunflower P?t?

1 cup soaked sunflower seeds

8-10 sundried tomatoes

? tbsp oil-soaked chopped garlic

Small bunch of basil

Mix all the ingredients together with a hand blender or food processor.

I really like this simple recipe in the summertime, spread on lettuce leaves or flax crackers. I always soak garlic for at least a few hours in oil before I use it, as otherwise I find it irritates my stomach.

WELL, that's all for now. I hope you have enjoyed this update from RawReform and that your path with raw foods is joyful. Many thanks for all the lovely feedback and do keep sending me your stories and photos, it's always great to hear other peoples' raw experiences.

Until next time, best wishes, love and light,

Angela.
